5 Great Films for Easy Viewing

Everyone knows the feeling - you want to watch a great film, but Schindler's List and Once Upon a Time in America just seem too long and heavy. Well here are five great films that are just slightly easier to watch.

1. Up In The Air

A charming, sleek easy-to-digest comedy/drama which provides astute observations on corporate culture. A perfect film for watching late at night; you can almost dream that you are flying across the USA on business class.

2. Drive
Unlike some more taxing thrillers, Drive invites you in right from the word go. The splendid visuals and phenomenal soundtrack make Drive a 'mood film'. And what a perfect mood.

3. Meet the Parents
A sublime and uplifting comedy, Meet the Parents is definitely underrated in terms of its pure genius. The protagonists are completely believable and appealing, and the awkward conflict between Greg (Ben Stiller) and his father-in-law-to-be (Robert De Niro) provides a laugh a minute.

4. 500 Days of Summer
A very original and engaging romantic comedy, perhaps the best for many years. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performances are never to be missed, and his character is a likeable one as usual. 500 Days of Summer is entirely uplifting and re-watchable.

5. Rocknrolla
Featuring a fantastic ensemble cast including the likes of Tom Hardy and Mark Strong, Rocknrolla is admittedly a style over substance piece. However, this is no problem as the plot is effective enough to keep us hooked while we are entertained by the humourous character interactions and snappy pieces of action.
